Scope

Steadfast is a well-established and reputable Fall Protection company based in Ipswich, Suffolk, operating in the UK. Steadfast provide design, installation & re-certification of Fall Protection equipment including horizontal lifeline systems & façade access equipment.


The main duties of this role will be to assist the site supervisor with carrying out the installation and/or inspection on a variety of engineered working at height safety systems. Our main product base is a range of products that protect people whilst working at height, on roof tops or whilst abseiling.

The position that has become available is for a Trainee Install Technician’ to learn how to install our ever-growing safety product range, safely and confidently. Tasks vary from day to day; a high percentage of our work is carried out in London on some of the most prestigious developments the construction sector has to offer currently. 


The ideal candidate would be comfortable working in all weather conditions, have a proactive, problem-solving mentality and would be prepared to use manual handling where required. The successful applicant will be put through all of the required training to carry out their duties safely, from working at height training through to MEWPs and the use of specialist handheld tools.

 

Job Specification

  • Assist the supervisor in setting & marking out install locations.
  • To take guidance from your supervisor and learn to use work related tools and powered access machinery
  •  Have a ‘pro health & safety’ attitude.
  • To adequately work and communicate with other staff members.
  • Able to adapt and remain flexible to last minute schedule / site changes.
  • An outgoing personality would be well suited to the role, and be able to converse well across all levels whilst ensuring the company is well represented on our projects.
  • Be confident in working at height.
  • Any other tasks as requested by the General Manager.

 

Preferable Skills & Abilities:

  • Ideally hold a red CSCS card as a minimum. 
  • Training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Be willing to have overnight stays where required.
  • A full driver’s license is required.

Technical Sales Engineer

Reporting To:    General Manager

Location:            Steadfast, Great Blakenham

Salary:                 Depending on experience

 

Scope

Steadfast is a well-established and reputable Fall Protection company based in Ipswich, Suffolk, operating in the UK. Steadfast provide design, installation & re-certification of Fall Protection equipment including horizontal lifeline systems & façade access equipment.

 

This is primarily an office-based role, however periodic and ad hoc visits to site will be required.

 

Job Specification

  • Pricing of enquiries (price, design & negotiation).
  • Attending site surveys (price & design).
  • Attending post tender consultations.
  • Producing CAD design drawings for approval/comment.
  • Handover of projects to contracts division.
  • Dealing with contractual/commercial matters during live contracts.
  • Assist in contract handover to Main Contractor - as built drawings.
  • Update the Operations and Maintenance manual.
  • As part of the collective – to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

 

All other tasks within the sales/estimating area as requested by the General Manager.

 

Requirements:

 

Education / Experience

  • Currently working as an Estimator
  • Technical CAD experience
  • Desirable technical sales experience

 

Preferable Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated, individual contributor and team player
  • Committed to their own training and development
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Proven experience in technical problem solving required
  • Able to learn & adapt in a growing environment

Contracts Co-ordinator

Reporting To:    General Manager

Scope:

The responsibility will be delivering projects within planned margins whilst also meeting the needs of the business in achieving our monthly sales targets whilst maintaining a high level of customer service.

 

The Contracts Co-ordinator will work closely with the contracts manager, administration manager & Sales team in project handovers and Co-ordinate operations, delivery schedules / logistics and scheduling workloads for the Safety Technicians. The projects will vary in size with the core of the project values being between £ 2,000 & £ 50,000 per contract multiple contracts will need to be handled at any one time.

 

We expect you to become a key player within the SAL team and work closely with the General Manager, Sales team and Operations Department, making a direct contribution to our strategic development in terms of business and sales

Growth.

 

The Role:

  • Managing multiple projects and contracts in various locations around the UK from inception through to completion.
  • Produce job packs for installations including load lists, risk assessments and safe systems of work as well as marked up drawings and layouts to ensure installations are completed accurately and safely.
  • Liaise with clients and ensuring ‘best in class’ customer service is maintained
  • Monitor and manage workloads within the Contracts office
  • Ensure all Safety Technicians training is up to date and current
  • Ensure visits are carried out during the contracts to complete random project audits, attend customers meeting
  • Ensuring Safety Technicians are fully briefed and dealing with on-site problems as and when they arise
  • Assisting credit control and customer liaison regarding contractual and financial disputes as well as invoice queries
  • As part of the collective – to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
  • General administrative tasks such as test certificates, O & Ms
  • Closing of completed works and research into potential re-certification works

 

All other tasks within the Contracts area as requested by the contracts/administration Manager.
